Welcome to the home of the most exciting classic race series in the UK
The Heritage Grand Touring Car Challenge is the leading race series in Britain for sports, saloon and GT cars from the 1960s and 1970s.
For 2008, the Heritage GTCC has a fabulous calendar, headlined by a support race at the A1 GP on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Other high-profile dates include support slots to the British F3/GT Championships at Thruxton and Silverstone as well as the new MSVR meetings at Donington, Silverstone, Snetterton and Brands. The HGTCC is taking race action for some wonderful cars to a very wide audience!
With classes to suit cars in varying stages of modification and careful control of technical eligibility, the series of seven race weekends delivers fabulous racing and entertainment for both the drivers and the fans.
"The addition of the Heritage cars to the A1GP will provide great added appeal for spectators and I am sure will provide some terrific racing," said Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision.
Run by Heritage Racing Support, the class is home to a glorious range of cars; from Mini Coopers to Chevrolet Camaros; from Corvette Stingrays to Aston Martins. All the cars must remain in period specification and race on moulded treaded tyres.
With the option of two drivers per car, mini-enduro races and capacity grids, the stage is set for a cracking 2008 season for the Heritage Grand Touring Car Challenge. The full calendar and more details about the series can be found in this site.
Stratton Motor Company has always been involved with motorsport. Founder Roger Bennington has been a regular competitor over the years, so much so that Heritage Racing Support was formed in the 1990's and has grown into a successful race preparation business and race promoter, running its own series the HGTCC.
Currently Heritage Racing Support specialises in Aston Martin, mainly due to the fact that Stratton Motor Company has been an official dealer since 1976. Roger has been working with Astons since the 60s and has a wealth of knowledge concerning these cars. However, HRS is now expanding into the preparation of other marques. The group has other interests, including a Trackday company, Heritage Trackdays and a helicopter charter company, Cheqair, which works very closely with the motorsport fraternity.
