Edwards set for HGT debut

28 April 2008

Former Westfield racer Jonathan Edwards will make his Heritage GT Car Challenge debut in the support races at this weekend's A1GP meeting at Brands Hatch.

Edwards will join former SCSA racer Mike Luck in the Jaguar E-Type entered by Classic World Racing and will be looking to continue the excellent form showed by Luck when he raced the car solo in the season opener at Donington Park.

At Donington, Luck scored a third and a fifth place in the pair of races as both he and the car joined the HGT grid for the first time.

"I was chuffed to bits with the results at Donington," said Luck. "We hope to improve our pace as we get the car sorted. But Brands should suit us better as it’s a more flowing circuit than Donington GP. On a good clear lap we should be in the top five fastest."

Edwards tested the E-Type at Silverstone on Friday for the first time and adapted very well. "We're looking to team up for the rest of the season," said Luck, who was a Clubmans champion as long ago as 1984.
