Lloyd switches back to Morgan for Brands
23 April 2008
Rick Lloyd will return to his faithful Morgan Plus 8 for the next rounds of the Heritage GT Car Challenge, the support races at the A1GP meeting at Brands Hatch on 3/4 May.
The Hampshire-based racer started the Heritage GT season at Donington with the ex-Denis Clark Chevrolet Camaro, with Peter Horsman sharing the driving. But with Horsman committed elsewhere for the Brands weekend, Lloyd has enlisted the driving talent of Morgan ace Matthew Wurr to share the thundering Plus 8.
The Camaro appeared at Donington for the first time in the hands of Lloyd and Horsman, having sat un-used for seven years after Clark stopped racing. In the 1990s, he won races in the ICS Historic Touring Car Championship in the mighty Camaro.
"It’s had a major rebuild over the winter and it's great fun to drive," said Lloyd of the Camaro. It's got a good engine putting out a genuine 601bhp!"
Lloyd and Horsman plan to team up once more in the Camaro for the HGTCC rounds at Thruxton on 28/29 June.
