Competed in Road Saloons Series for some years in a Golf MK1 GTI.

Managed second in Class B 2 years running in the Championship.

Car prepared by John and Ray Barrow. Period modifications as the car appeared in the British Saloon and European Championships 1969 – 1972.

Car was raced by Roy Pierpoint, Brian Muir, Terry Sanger, Martin Thomas in late 1960’s Early 1970s in British and European Group 2 Championships.
This car was featured in BBCs 100 Greatest Sporting Moments at Crystal Palace in 1972.

My only claim to fame is that I have appeared on the TV Series Under The Hammer on a number of occasions.


Interests include Reading, walking my dogs and Motorsport.

John shares the car with engine builder Ray Barrow who is very tall!
