Aston Martin DBS V8 1971: N0.44
This car has the original 5.3 litre engine that it had when it was delivered to H A Fox in 1972. It has a 4 speed racing box, is lightened to C3 AMOC Regs, and its engine is a Vantage spec. The car has been racing since 1980 and was raced at Silverstone in 1990 by Gerry Marshall in the Intermarque. More recently Bob and Tony have been racing it at AMOC and Heritage events, winning the Intermarque Class D championship in 2004. Their best Heritage result to date was 3rd at Brands in 2006 and a class win at Snetterton last year.

Bob was bought up in a racing environment, his late father was Ron Searles, Cooper Works Manager in 1950's. Ron started the Brands Hatch Racing Driver's School in the early '50's, notable success of school being Graham Hill! Bob drove a Cooper Junior around Brands Hatch aged 9 years.
Tony Jardine, well known as a F1 TV Pundit, began his career as a teacher in the USA, UK and Middle East, Tony was Head of Art at the New English School in Kuwait, where he rallied for Datsun importers in his spare time - finishing eighth on the Kuwait International Rally 1975.
He made his transition into F1 working for Goodyear's Grand Prix Team, driving trucks and fitting tyres at Grand Prix events before becoming a temporary engineer to teams in the pit lane.
It was not long before Tony joined the Brabham Formula One Team, working alongside Niki Lauda, as race co-ordinator for all races and tests, before moving into the drawing office with the legendary designer Gordon Murray.
Tony then moved to Marlboro McLaren as Assistant Team Manager where he worked closely with Alain Prost and John Watson.
He left F1 to work for an American promotions company in the FMCG arena. Just 16 months later he was head hunted back into racing but this time on the other side of the garage as PR man overseeing the JPS brand in F1 with Lotus, working with Peter Warr, Nigel Mansell, Elio de Angelis and Ayrton Senna.
Tony's love of rallying led him to compete in four Arctic Rally's and ten successive Network Q Rally GB's, finishing second in class in 2001 and winning the journalists award three times.
