Richard and Jonathan White are a father son team who will be competing in a Triumph TR6 this coming season.  Richard (White Maximus), is originally from London but has been living In Dublin, Ireland since 1968.

Richard has been racing since the early 1980’s in all manner of Historic racing in Ireland. Drives included MG Midgets, MGB’s, Ford Capris and more recently the beautifully prepared Triumph TR6. Class and championships wins were abundant in the 1990’s with victories at Mondello Park, Kirkistown, Anglesey and most notably The Phoenix Park Motor Races. His enthusiasm today remains just as strong as it was in his first race some 25 years ago. Jonathan comments,‘’ Dad’s still fast and aggressive, just a lot grumpier with it, so we started a race team in his honour and made him team principal, it’s called Victor Meldrew Racing!’’

Richard is also behind the recent reformation of The Phoenix Park Motor Races in Ireland, an event steeped in History that holds a special place in the history of Irish if not world motorsport.

Richard is very excited about the coming season, ‘’I am looking forward to this year immensely, I race with Conor O’Brien ‘’The Great Condor’’ in Ireland and his spoken enthusiasm for the HGTCC series alone had me hooked immediately...Now I’m fully committed, I even have a number two driver!’’

Jonathan (White Minimus) is this teams second driver and his historic race pedigree is as varied as his Fathers. Starting as a race instructor at Irelands Mondello Park in 1994, Jonathan’s first race was 1995 in a race prepared MGB. He stuck with MGB’s for 7 seasons and won 2 championships and numerous class victories in his first five years of racing. In 2002, he nearly graduated to a Whelan Motorsport Porsche 911 2.4 but opted for a Ric Wood developed Capri 3000 GT instead. To this day he campaigns the Capri in the pre’74 Irish Historic Class.

This teams TR6 was actually rescued from a Dublin front garden in 2003 and over the course of the last three years has been lovingly race restored by Steve Hall and his immensely experienced team at TR Enterprises. ‘’ The opportunity to run this car for Richard and Jonathan in this years Heritage series was one not to be missed’’ says Steve,…’’we’re organised and raring to go, and the car is ready too!’’ It is prepared for racing by Simon Watson ("Big Ron").
